The Mean Mom

Just ask my 7 year old, he'll tell you. Don't believe him? Ask my 14 year old, if she still leaves you in doubt, my 17 year old can confirm it too.

I'm free! I'm free!

The younger 2 are away this week. It's just Hubby and me and Kay. I can eat ice cream for dinner, I can wander the house naked, I can eat icecream for dinner while naked in the living room!

I'm free!

I bet you're wondering what exciting thing I've been doing so far this week... nothing. I'm actually looking to go to bed early tonight. And this time, it won't be to get some hot lovin'. It will be to get some sleep.

The kids will be back soon enough. My peace and quiet will again be filled with non-stop talking and joking and laughing... and some arguing too...

I miss them, but I'll miss eating ice cream while naked in the living room more...

Just how do I make a cat pee in a cup?

I love my cats... I really do. BUT there are some things that make me crazy. The thing that makes me the craziest is the fact that one cat thinks she needs to claim everything as her own. She claims it by peeing on it. But, if you have cats you know it's not normal pee when they are marking something, it's Super Pee.

I called the vet. She suggested a couple things. Use an enzymatic cleaner to get rid of the smell, and some other stuff to make her not want to mark anything any more. If those don't work, she wants to put her on Prozac. Yes. My cat on Prozac. Maybe we should just up her dosage of catnip...

Oh, and they think we should collect a urine sample. Right... a urine sample. And that brings me to the title of my post... If you have any hints, I'll be glad to listen to them. I can't promise I won't laugh about them though.

Long time no see...

I've been busy seeing other stuff than you... Don't worry, it doesn't mean that I don't love you all... well all 6 of you.

It's been a bit crazy. Middle school graduation shopping, end of year field trips (one to DC the other to the zoo), and the biggest time consumer has been decluttering for the guy to come install AC on Tuesday. Lots of fun.

Some other stuff I've seen... Kyle "crossover" from a Wolf to a Bear in Cub Scouts. Kay getting a new job. Nikki deciding that water is nothing to be afraid of. All good things...

I'm still knitting away on my afghan squares, and as soon as I can, I'll post a picture of the one that I finished. Rope cables, and if doesn't sound too snotty, I'm very pleased by it. I need to block it, but it actually looks like what it is supposed to. There are a couple oopses, and I had to undo about 4 rows when I wasn't paying attention, but it's all good. And the oopses are hard to spot with the cables.

For mother's day a good friend sent me a gift certificate from a LYS and I am dying to get out to use it. I just need to decide what I want to make so I have a goal to focus on. There's a gorgeous sweater in Interweave that I would love to try... Wheat-Ear Cable Yoke . Now to just do a couple more of the afghan squares to feel more confident with the cables, then off I go to get yarn for that one...

Ok, I'm off to face the icky weather... thunderstorms, hail, tornadoes... Yeah, I live in MD... not the midwest.
